Also see: Fremont 1 and Fremont 2
BuildingThe San Jose Colocation Facility is located in the highly-connected building that was once the original MAE West facility. Located at 55 South Market Street in downtown San Jose, the facility has easy access from three major freeways (101, 680, and 880), and is just minutes away from the San Jose International Airport (SJC).
Check-In, Access, BiometricsA biometric hand recognition system monitors and limits access into the colocation facility.
Security & CamerasA camera system was custom designed to monitor and record the entrance into the Colocation Facility, every hallway, and every rack.
Individual Locking CagesIndividually locked cages add an extra level of security to the equipment in your racks.
RacksAll of the standard 19-inch racks are seismically braced to meet and exceed the Universal Building Code (UBC) through a series of various anchoring techniques.
Cabling, Conduit, Raceway, LadderThe ladder rack on top of the racks simplifies running connections to and from your equipment. Because the cabling is so clean upgrades, cross connects, and troubleshooting happen a lot easier.
Cross-ConnectsCross-connect cables link each customer to Hurricane Electric or other transit providers and carriers, or to other customers.
ConnectivityOur San Jose facility includes access and equipment from many different carriers, as well as some of our core routers, connecting to other facilities and transit options.
Air ConditioningRedundant HVAC units environmentally control the air temperature and relative humidity in the Colocation Facility.
Power, UPSUninterruptible Power Supplies not only provide clean conditioned power, but also power your equipment during the time between an unlikely power outage and when the emergency generator becomes active.
Power, BatteriesBackup batteries power the UPS systems so that in the unlikely event of a power outage, your servers will keep running.
Colo Carts“Colo Carts” provide convenient access to a keyboard, mouse, and monitor anywhere in the facility. Some customers call them “Crash Carts” , when asking our staff to connect to a non-responsive server, as part of our free basic Remote Hands service. Customers also use the Colo Carts when installing and maintaining equipment.
NOC, staffOur Fremont colocation facilities and NOC are staffed 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. We can dispatch staff from Fremont as needed, to address any issues.
Remote Hands ServiceHurricane Electric provides free basic “Remote Hands” service, so customers aren't charged for asking our staff to check a server's status, attach a monitor and keyboard, restart a server, or perform other routine tasks. Our trained technical staff can help you identify, diagnose, and resolve issues. For more complex issues, we offer professional services under contract. |
